We took a guide book from 1968, Cornwall Holiday Guide, and were inspired to visit Falmouth to find some of the hotels advertised in the brochure, to discover if they are still going strong. And if they are no longer there, what became of them and what is in their place now?
As we researched this video, we made some fascinating discoveries about the changing face of Falmouth Sea Front. We learned more about Rev. Coope, owner of Gyllyngdune Estate, and the development of the hotels in Cliff Road to satisfy Victorian tourism.

Most are still in print although some we pick up in charity shops and may be available on Amazon secondhand. Please refer to the video for the book titles. Every video shows the book three times. Sorry but we can’t put a link in every description.
Best time of year to visit Cornwall?
We love May, June for flora and fauna, July and September for spectacular scenery.
What is your dog’s name?
Sorry but we do not release the name of our dog, perhaps you can make up your own name for him.
