In the olden days people used to practice as a conventional method where we need to cut the skin, the muscle, which is causing a weakness because of the incision what we are giving to the muscle, so this causes a weakness. To get a normal tensile strength to the muscle it normally takes atleast 6 months to one year. So in the process if the patient lifts up heavy weight the chances of incisional hernia is very high in a conventional method, but whereas in laparoscopic appendicectomy where we put a keyhole, the size of the hole is maximum 5mm and these surgeries can be done with a 5mm camera and a 5mm pores. So the chances of developing incisional hernia is very rare once the patient has undergone surgery, he needs a 2 to 3 days rest at home and 4th day the patient can resume his normal activities going for a home walk, he can go for a brisk walk. The only thing is he has to avoid lifting weights for about one and a half to 3 months.
