Put yourself into a chilling Halloween mood by joining the Sterling Heights Historical Commission for a video presentation on the traditions and peculiarities of funerals in the Victorian Age!
Using photographs and live narration, viewers will learn how recent burial customs began; why some seemingly strange practices were observed; whose funeral was probably held in the Upton House, and what the gentry of the time were doing when a loved one died. It’s sure to be a surprising, and sometimes ghastly, telling of death and the times.
After the video, join us tonight at 8 p.m. for a virtual discussion through Zoom. Register at bit.ly/shpl-victorian-funeral-customs to join.
