Storm Zoltan brought heavy rain and strong winds across Northern Europe overnight into Friday, December 22, uprooting trees and causing flooding on the North Sea coast.

In Hamburg, the Elbe River flooded the streets around the city's fish market, and the air was waist-high in some places. In Bremerhaven, a port city north of Bremen, parts of the city and coastline were also heavily flooded during the storm.

Streets around ports were flooded overnight in several Dutch North Sea towns including Scheveningen, a coastal suburb of The Hague.
