Compound Verb
In a sentence with compound verb, two or more verbs shares the same subject. Compound verb is apposite to the compound subject, compound subject two or more subject shares one verb and in compound verb one subject shares two or more verbs.
There are four types of compound verbs
• A prepositional verb: preposition + verb
• A phrasal verb : A phrasal verb is a combination of words (a verb + a preposition or verb +adverb) that when used together, usually take on a different meaning to that of the original verb.
A verb with Auxiliaries
• Auxiliary (or Helping) verbs are used together with a main verb to show the verb’s tense or to form a negative or question. The most common auxiliary verbs are have, be, and do.
A Compound Single-word Verb
• When a verb is a combination of multiple words, it is called a compound verb.
