In an Exclusive Interview in Davos France 24’s Georja Calvin Smith talks to Gianni Infatino, the President of FIFA, the international governing body of football. A discussion centered on education, the fight against hunger and football. FIFA is banding together with The world Food Program, and UNESCO for a new project aimed at helping communities break out of cycles of deprivation. These organizations say they will be providing free school meals in poorer communities around the world in a bid to get children to school and keep them there. Another key aspect of the project consists in supporting teachers to make sure that the quality of education on offer improves children’s chances in life going forward. Is this FIFA’s way of rebuilding trust following scandals in recent years?
