Nicky Ryan, the younger brother of Gordon Ryan, is a talented and seasoned jiu-jitsu competitor. Born on June 27th, 2001 in New Jersey, USA, Nicky was inspired by his brother's success and started jiu-jitsu at the age of 8. Despite an initial lack of interest, he rediscovered his love for the sport in 2015 and began training intensely.

Mentored by John Danaher, Nicky quickly mastered advanced techniques, and by the age of 13, he started winning adult tournaments. Due to his dedication, he opted for homeschooling in 2016, allowing him to fully commit to his passion. At 15, he placed third in the ADCC East Coast Trials, earning him a spot at the World Championships in Finland the following year where he became the youngest athlete to compete in the event.

His success continued with victories at the Polaris Featherweight Championship, against renowned competitors like Phil Harris, Masakazu Imanari, Geo Martinez, and Uriah Faber. He progressed through the ranks, earning a black belt by 2020.

During the pandemic, Nicky and his team left Renzo Gracie's academy to start on their own in Puerto Rico. However, the venture faced difficulties and the team eventually disbanded. Undeterred, Nicky joined forces with Craig Jones, Ethan Crelensten, and Nick Rodriguez to form the B-Team Jiu Jitsu, proving themselves as formidable competitors.

Despite recurrent knee injuries hindering his career, Nicky's unyielding spirit promises an exciting future. Even at his young age, he has already made a significant impact in the jiu-jitsu world.
