Not too long ago, there was a pellet implant craze in the hormone world. The idea was that a doctor could make a small incision, place little pellets the size of a grain of rice inside you, sew you up and your testosterone would be delivered to you internally each day over the next few months. Pellets give a level dose of the hormone on a daily basis and the over time the receptors do not respond.
