At the conclusion of the recent term, the U.S. Supreme Court issued three key decisions that impact civil rights: (1) Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, which invalidated the use of race-conscious admissions procedures implemented by the universities; (2) Groff v. DeJoy, which makes it more difficult for employers to deny an employee’s request for a religious accommodation; and (3) 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, where the court held that the constitutional right to free speech allows certain businesses to refuse to provide services for same-sex weddings.
Join us for a panel discussion where members of our Labor & Employment and Higher Education practice groups, along with our chief diversity, equity, & inclusion officer, discuss the impact of these decisions on employers, educational institutions, and DE&I professionals.
