Ricardo Chavira, best known as "Carlos Solis" on "Desperate Housewives," visited Dallas on April 14 as the special guest at the Baylor Health Care System Foundation's Celebrating Women Kickoff Coffee. The event is a precursor to the annual Celebrating Women luncheon, a fundraiser to benefit breast cancer services throughout Baylor Health Care System. Chavira shared his personal story of being affected by breast cancer--his mother passed away from the disease when he was 15 and both of his sisters have now been diagnosed. The fight against breast cancer is near and dear to his heart and we were honored to have him as our special guest. We hope his message reaches those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer as well as their caregivers.
