In this straw bale we grew some Garnet Sweet Potatoes. We just harvested another bale that had several types growing in it, so I was hopeful that this bale would do as well as the other one. Overall, I think this bale actually did better than the other bale. I think this one did better in average size, and overall number of sweet potatoes.
I've grown sweet potatoes in grow bags, in the ground, and now in straw bales. I think the ones in the straw bales have done the best so far. I'm already looking forward to growing them in straw bales again next year. If you've ever tried growing sweet potatoes in straw bales, let us know how yours did.
