LESSON PROPER
What is a Multiplication Fact?
A multiplication fact is the answer to a multiplication calculation.
For example, in 4 x 4 = 16, the multiplication fact is 16.
Multiplication Fact by 2
Rule: Any number times “2” is doubled.
Add the number to itself for the 2 table. In learning multiplication facts for the number two, you will see that the number being
multiplied by 2 is simply added to itself.
For example:
2 x 2 = 4 2 + 2 = 4
2 x 3 = 6 3 + 3 = 6
2 x 4 = 8 4 + 4 = 8
2 x 5= 10 5 + 5 = 10
Here's the multiplication table by 2
Multiplication Table by 2
2 x 1 = 2
2 x 2 = 4
2 x 3 = 6
2 x 4 = 8
2 x 5 = 10
2 x 6 = 12
2 x 7 = 14
2 x 8 = 16
2 x 9 = 18
2 x 10 = 20
Solve:
2 x 6 = 12
2 x 5 = 10
2 x 8 = 16
2 x 3 = 6
Multiplication Fact by 5
Rule: Do skip counting when multiplying. Count by 5s.
Multiplication Table by 5
5 x 1 = 5
5 x 2 = 10
5 x 3 = 15
5 x 4 = 20
5 x 5 = 25
5 x 6 = 30
5 x 7 = 35
5 x 8 = 40
5 x 9 = 45
5 x 10 = 50
Multiplication Fact by 10
Rule: Add a zero to any number that you multiply by 10. When multiplying whole numbers by 10, simply add a 0 at the end of the number, and you will have the answer. For example:
3 x 10 = 30
7 x 10= 70
5 x 10= 50
Multiplication Table by 10
10 x 1 = 10
10 x 2 = 20
10 x 3 = 30
10 x 4 = 40
10 x 5= 50
10 x 6 = 60
10 x 7 = 70
10 x 8 = 80
10 x 9 = 90
10 x 10 = 100
