Short, medium and long-term corruption trends for Bhutan and other South Asian countries are presented in this video using scores published by Transparency International in their Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2023 report.
The video reviews Bhutan’s performance in addressing corruption in the periods 2012-2023, 2018-2023 and 2022-2023.
Bhutan’s CPI score recorded a moderate overall improvement in 2012-2023. The country’s CPI score advanced in 2013-2018 and then remained stable in 2018-2023.
The rate of change in the country’s CPI score was less than the rate of change in average South Asian CPI scores in 2012-2023 but exceeded the rate of change in average Asia/Pacific and global CPI scores in this period.
Bhutan’s CPI score recorded the best performance among South Asian countries in 2012-2023 and consistently outperformed average South Asian, Asia-Pacific and global CPI scores throughout this period. #corruption #bhutan #southasia
