Since the 18th century, classical statuary was positioned as the height of Artistic expression. But along with a new celebration of this art form , came a new focus on how one was "expected" to view these sculptures. Toppling confederate monuments over the past few years, brought out a lot of opinions regarding Black Lives Matter, Proud Boys, and the viewing of public art. This series of videos traces the legacies of these 18th century opinions and how they manifest themselves via the alt-right, debate-bros, and incels.
