This temple was built in 573 AD to house relics of Buddha received from India. The temple has had different names through history, but settled on "Liu Rong" or Six Banyan Trees Temple in 1100 A.D. when famous writer Su Dongpo wrote about the beautiful trees that once stood here. The Flowery Pagoda appears to be 9 stories high from the outside, but is actually 17 stories on the inside. The temple houses massive brass Buddhas each weighing 10-tons and being 3 meters or nearly 20 feet in height.
