If you want to achieve higher R-Values, two layers of insulation can be installed. Faced fiberglass rolls are installed between the purlins and / or girts, filling the cavity. They are held up with steel banding that is screwed to the underside of the purlins. An additional layer of unfaced insulation is then placed over the top of purlins or girts. The double layers of insulation create high R-Values and give your building optimal energy performance. Values of up to R-43 can be achieved utilizing the Double Layer Insulation System.
