As a proud Wisconsinite I am appalled at how much beer gets wasted trying to drown snails and slugs. Plus I'm relatively lazy and can't be bothered to maintain homemade traps. I'm also kinda cheap and won't buy something a person could make from an old pop bottle.

Step 1. Grab a handful of your favorite iron phosphate pellets
Step 2. Fling in general direction of plants you want to protect
Step 3. Crack a cold one since you didn't waste your beer on the slugs.

Basically for the price of a 30 pack of canned cheap beer from a gas station you can buy a bag of iron phosphate pellets. Doesn't matter the brand just so long as it isn't the other "old" style pellet (Google it) that'll hurt anything with an endoskeleton - like bird's, dogs, cats... people.

The slugs and snails eat the pellets and then stop eating until they're dead. I assume they just dissolve back into the ground once they pass.
