Artist Biography: In Ruins are a melodic metalcore band from Croydon, South London, UK.

Formed in 2010, In Ruins quickly built up a sizeable fan base, working hard playing numerous gigs locally and across South England.

2011 saw the band record and release their debut EP, 'Dissonance'. The 8 track recording was initially sold online, with hard copies following. Received well, downloads & sales quickly climbed above several hundred before the turn of the year.

2012 saw the bands persistent hard work start to pay off as they began sharing the stage with bigger bands & playing to bigger crowds. The band wasted no time and recorded their follow up EP, entitled 'Prologue'. The new offering was huge steps above 'Dissonance', demonstrating much higher levels of musical maturity & creativity. Downloads & sales far exceeded that of 'Dissonance', showing the progress the band had made in such a short space of time. The EP and live show with UK outfit HEART OF A COWARD were reviewed by national magazines for the first time. The reviews spoke for themselves and clarified the bands progression into a serious outfit on record & live, something a lot of bands fail to do...

2012 was a landmark year for In Ruins. The band began writing the follow up to 'Prologue', a new EP due out mid 2013. Gigs continued to get bigger and better, with sold out local shows and more frequent appearances alongside larger touring bands. The culmination was the bands first ever European Tour. The long weekender organised with help from new friends RESURRECTION (Belgium) spread across Holland & Belgium, with the Dutch date being headlines by French titans BETRAYING THE MARTYRS. The whole experience was nothing short of incredible for the band. Travelling to foreign countries, playing every night and making new friends and contacts along the way gave In Ruins a chance to see where their hard work, dedication and persistence could take them. It also gave the band the opportunity to showcase their material to a completely new audience, and the reaction they received can only be described as nothing short of overwhelming.

Driven & motivated off the back of a successful 2012, 2013 sees the band taking things even further than ever before, with a new recording due mid 2013, UK & European tours booked and a host of high profile shows to add to that. This band won't be wasting any of the time 2013 has to offer.

To date, In Ruins has already shared the stage with bands such as BETRAYING THE MARTYRS, ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY, MARTYR DEFILED, HEIGHTS, DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL, EYES OF A TRAITOR, HEART OF A COWARD, HEART IN HAND, THE ELIJAH, CONTINENTS, THIS IS COLOUR, NAPOLEON, AGAINST THE FLOOD & many more.
