Throughout “Tantrum” Zoe, Ernie and Bert got corrupted leaving Big Bird as the only one left.
Inraged Big Bird strapped bombs to his chest (I’m not even joking), and he even stabbed Elmo in the eye with Ernie’s crowbar after he and Bert were corrupted. Elmo was eventually freed but The Darkness wasn’t gonna let him go. Before he was corrupted Big Bird detonated the bombs and saved Elmo at the cost of his freedom. Afterwards Elmo was sent flying and landed outside of Sesame Street where he meets Pibby (Who was looking for Boyfriend unaware that he’s corrupted) and Elmo tells PIBBY what has been happening in Sesame Street lately…
