This video is of my second day of the 2021 TT2000 - the South Island, New Zealand Long Distance Motorcycle Event.
To finish you need to cover 2000kms in 48hrs between lunchtime Friday and Sunday. There are also checkpoints, with different values, and you need a minimum 100,000 points to go with your 2000kms.
This year I plotted an ambitious route with a bit over 200,000 points.
Day 2 was to start at 4am in Invercargill and complete in Fairly at 7pm, after 1050kms.
Day 3 was to start in Fairlie at a more sedate 5:30am, with a target arrival back in Oamaru by 10:30am. With time up my sleeve.
Like other Auckland riders, due to COVID, I’d pretty much ridden down the day before and the morning of the start.
