An awesome rare catch on the daily Toronto bound manifest!
Canadian National Railway locomotives 3855 (ES44AC Tier 3 Credit Gevo), 8876 (EMD SD70M-2), 5608 (EMD SD70I), FOMX 1001 (ex ISRI EMD SW8 switcher), and mid train remote dpu 8867 (EMD SD70M-2) power a long CN manifest train M305 (Moncton, NB Gordon Yard to Toronto, ON MacMillan Yard) westbound at Berry Mills, NB on a sunny morning hauling 163 cars (11,836 feet / 680 axles) of mixed freight and autoracks. This is about the maximum length for CN 305 to facilitate a meet with an over length CN 120 on the CN Pelletier Subdivision. This video opens with a few still shots of the awesome consist as the train is being made up at the Gordon Yard.
The old ARS (former IRSI - Industrial Rail Service Inc at the Moncton Gordon Yard) EMD SW8 switcher is heading to a new home at the Bayview Place museum in Victoria, BC. They did a very good paint job on the old switcher. Interestingly the reporting mark on this unit is FOMX 1001 (former ISRI 1001). A foamer is a slang term often used by train crews to describe railfans.
