Throughout March, all of the revenue we make from our YouTube channel will be donated to Tabletochki – a charity in Ukraine that supports children with cancer.
Luke says, "Felix Blumenfeld (1863-1931) was born in Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine. His music is seldom performed and recordings are rare, but I’ve been captivated by his compositions for many years. I originally planned to share this piece in 2023 as part of a series I’ve filmed to celebrate the 150th anniversary year of Rachmaninov’s birth (Blumenfeld and Rachmaninov were friends). However, now seemed the right time."
◼️ HOW YOU CAN HELP: The more views, likes, comments and shares we get on our channel, the more money we can raise! So, please do share far and wide to help us raise more money for this incredible charity. Thank you for your support.
◼️ ABOUT #PLAYFORUKRAINE: We are asking pianists – both amateur and professional – to send in videos of themselves playing a piece that means a lot to them. We will then post a selection of the videos onto our YouTube channel. Full details on how you can contribute to this initiative can be found here: [ Ссылка ]
◼️ ABOUT TABLETOCHKI: The charity supports a child through every stage of cancer. Examination, diagnostics, search for and procurement of medicines, treatment coordination in Ukraine and overseas, psychological support and organization of special events for children ‒ all of this is done by Tabletochki team and their volunteers. With the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, children are struggling to get the treatment they need. Most children are now being treated in damp, mouldy basements, which act as bomb shelters.
