I've been baking cakes for a long time, so when I heard about Mother Johnnie Ruth Irving's Pound Cake, I had to try it. Spoiler, it was Delicious...A really simple moist tender pound cake. It taste like what I think of when I think of Pound Cake...very traditional. It was So Good, I enjoyed it til the end, not by myself of course..Lol I would highly recommend if you are a new baker to try out this recipe, it's very easy. Recipe
Preheat oven to 320 degrees
Grease and flour or spray with baking spray a Bundt pan
2 1/2 c cake flour
2 1/4 c sugar
7 eggs
3 sticks butter
3/4 c sweetened condensed milk
2 drawer teaspoons of vanilla extract
2 drawer teaspoons of lemon extract
Mix together soften butter and sugar for 7 - 10 minutes
add in eggs, one at a time, mixing along the way, scrape down bowl, add in vanilla and lemon extracts, mix, Then add flour and milk alternating flour-milk-flour-milk-flour until all are gone. Mix batter real good for about 5 more seconds and pour into bundt pan. Place pan in the oven and cook for 1 hour or a little longer, but check at one hour!
Remove when finished baking, let cool for about 15 minutes before removing cake from pan. Place on a cooling rack, sprinkle with powdered sugar (optional)
