In this project, we demonstrate the construction of a glulam or laminated beam in place. That is, the beam is built in an existing structure, where it is needed. This is an ideal technique for adding a beam to an existing structure, or replacing a beam that has been damages by rot or termites, for instance. Specifically, this technique enables you to add a large beam in a confined space, where you do not have sufficient room to bring a one-piece beam into position.
