#Materials:
1. Dr. Fixit Samshield XL 1500: 1.5mm thick SBS modified self-adhesive membrane with a Valeron topping.
2. Dr. Fixit/Hyflux Primer: Bituminous solvent based primer.
3. Hyflux Board: 8mm thick Dimple Board
4. Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+: Integral Waterproofing Compound.
5. Cement, sand and aggregates etc…
#Tools and Machineries
1. Buckets, cleaning tools, brushes, gloves etc.
2. Hot air blower.
Surface preparation (civil contractor scope)
1. Initial cleaning the surface.
2. The area water proofing should be protected with proper barricades. De-watering near working surface and
providing the surface suitable to receive waterproofing.
3. The entire area shall be taken up for thorough surface preparation and mechanical removal of debris, laitance,
protrusions, etc.
4. Removing PVC pipe from tie rod holes and sealing tie rod holes.
5. Honey Comb treatment.
#Application Procedure:
1. Final cleaning the surface, grinding the surface by mechanically using grinding machine.
2. Sealing of Tie rod holes (Civil Contractor Scope). (As per approved drawing no. 24).
3. Making “ V” grove (25mm x 25mm) at all the construction joints.
4. Filling the grove with cement sand mortar 1:4 admixed with of Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+ @ 200 ml per 50 kg
bag of cement (Cement & sand should be provided by the civil contractor free of cost).
5. Construction of angle fillets at the junction of slab & vertical walls prepared with cement sand mortar 1:4
admixed with Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+ @ 200 ml per 50 kg bag of cement.
6. Curing for a day, for angle fillet.
7. Dr. Fixit Samshield application to be started with an overlap of 100mm with HDPE membrane Dr. Fixit.
Prebond with the use of double sided tapes.
8. Priming the surface with solvent based bituminous primer @ 150gms/Sqm.
9. After 2hrs of priming, extending the SBS modified waterproofing membrane Dr. Fixit Samshield XL 1500,
from vertical of the retaining wall raft with minimum 50mm over lapping and continuing the treatment up to
retaining wall termination.
10. Providing and fixing 8 mm dimple board, protection board over the membrane for vertical surface. Dimple
boards are to be clamped above the membrane before back filling.
11. Back filling is to be done within a timeline of 24hrs-48hrs, after fixing of the dimple board. Back filling is to be
done in layers of 300mm. Minimum 0.2m-0.3m to be left for overlap and continuation of the membrane. Back
filling is to be done with soft soil and should be done carefully without harming the membrane. (Civil
Contractor Scope).
12. Termination of the membrane: - 150 mm above ground level, a groove is to be made and the samshield
membrane is to be tucked inside. PU/PS sealant to be applied to seal the membrane and the v-groove. Dimple
board to be extended 150mm above this grove and finised with 25mm wide aluminium flashing patti to be
fixed with G.I screw @ 500mm C/C spacing and sealing at top using PU / Bitumastic sealant.
