Transport of Proteins through the emdomembrane system is a very complex process. Proteins are Transpored from ER to Golgi the Lysosome or other places or even outside the cell as Secretory Proteins.
In this video we will learn about Transport between ER-Golgi.
Proteins Transport from the ER to Golgi Body is normal Transport and known as Anterograde Transport. It takes place with the help of COP II coat Proteins that cover the vesicles needed to be Transpored to Golgi. A GEF Sec 12p and A GTPase Sar1p is needed for this.
For back Transport i.e. from Golgi to ER the process is called Retrograde. It takes place only when any resident Protein of ER has come to Golgi by mistake.Golgi returns it by coatin COP I protein. GEF is Sec 7 and GTPase is ARF1
