Welcome to Reinert Hall.
Boasting a strong sense of community, Reinert Hall is affectionately known as “The Nert” among its many residents.
Located along South Grand Avenue, Reinert is the closest residence hall to the southern part of SLU’s campus, where most health professions courses are offered, making it a popular choice for students in those majors.
The upper floors have great views of St. Louis city, while a grab-and-go dining location on the ground floor offers hot and cold meal options. This floor of Reinert Hall also has a 24-hour security desk, kitchen, technology-capable banquet room, classrooms for study and collaboration, and a chapel.
Free on-site laundry facilities are located in the basement.
The building was recently converted to offer additional lounge space throughout. Plus, each room has its own full bathroom.
Reinert Hall houses more than 500 freshman and sophomore students. Doubles and triples have the same basic footprint, so let’s take a look at the floor plans.
In the double deluxe, you’ll find two sets of extra-long twin beds, two wardrobes, two dressers and two desks with two chairs.
The triple has three beds. These rooms also have three wardrobes, dressers, desks and chairs.
Bathrooms have a toilet, sink and combined shower/tub. You will need to bring your own shower curtain.
At 25 feet deep at their longest point, Reinert Hall’s rooms are among the largest at SLU. In both floor plans, any of the furniture can be moved around within the space to make it your own.
Do remember, though, that Reinert has in-wall convector units next to the window. Furniture must remain at least two feet away from the unit so air can properly circulate.
Beds can be lifted, allowing room for a dresser or extra storage, or lofted for even more space. Many students will choose to put a desk or futon under a lofted bed and in triples, most roommates choose to bunk two of the beds, which is the way the beds will be set up on move-in day.
Add a little flair with decor, lighting, wall hangings and a rug. There is more than enough room to add extra seating with a futon or small couch and storage elements. Don’t worry about bringing blinds - those come with the room.
Many students work with a University partner to take advantage of rental options that are in the room on move-in day, including loft kits, futons and mini-fridge/microwave units, but you can also bring your own.
Before you know it, your room will be feeling just like home.
Individual dimensions of rooms will vary based on their configuration so check the floor plans at slu.edu for general measurements.
