The National Weather Service said it was about three miles southwest of Wilmington, in Clinton County. There was widespread damage across western/central Clinton County. Some of it was straight line winds but some was a tornado.
The National Weather Service confirmed it was an EF-0. It hit on McGuinn Road between Route-730 and US-68. Four homes were hit on the road. Driving around there Thursday Local 12 found lots of trees down, not just three limbs but huge trees split in half. Everyone Local 12 News spoke with heard a tornado alert on their cellphone between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning. They woke up, took cover in a bathroom or a basement and then heard a loud roar.
