Thingvellir National Park is located in the southwestern countryside of Iceland and is full of historical significance and stunning volcanic landscapes. From 930-1798, it served as the site of Iceland’s first Parliament. Thingvellir is also home to the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, with clear water running though some of the rifts caused by the tectonic and volcanic activity. When visiting Iceland, Thingvellir is a must-see for any outdoor enthusiast and anyone interested in the history of this unique island nation.
