Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has strongly condemned violent protests that have rocked Tshwane and other areas around the country ahead of the August third local government elections. Ramaphosa was giving a briefing on the labour working group at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. He diverted from the labour issue to address the violent protests in Tshwane. The deputy president says police are doing all they can to keep control of the situation.
He says South Africans should uphold the values of the constitution and refrain from violence as a means of furthering their demands.
