We were joined by The Elder Scrolls Online game director Paul Sage who talked us through the work on the console versions of the game, how they've worked to bring the best out of the Elder Scrolls and the MMO genre together and the reactions to first person view.
"The team is really excited to be able to put this onto consoles. It's something that we've really wanted. In spring 2014 you'll see it on Xbox One, you'll see it on PlayStation 4 and you'll see it on PC and Mac. Getting it out there to as broad an audience as possible is really important. The key thing is each platform has to have what makes that platform great in the game."
On the response to the first person announcement:
"Honestly, I think the amazing response we got for including it was a little bit of a surprise, but you know, the team really wanted it. It was just a matter of when you're in the MMO space and you have like say monsters that spawn behind you when you have PvP and you've got these huge PvP battles, situational awareness is key. So we wanted to make sure that the third person view was amazing. Once we had that down we felt like pkay, this is something we think we've gotten right, then we can start looking at the first person."
