A Metal Replacement Material.
PEEK has exceptional properties and the addition of short carbon fibre further improves its performance, making it one of the highest performing polymers available.
Thermal resistance is greatly improved by reaching 350°C before deforming (HDT 0.45 MPa) and mechanical properties are similar to semi-crystalline PEEK but with more brittle and less ductile behaviour.
The elastic modulus also increases, making the material less flexible. It resists when placed in hostile environments involving fuels, grease, chemicals, high humidity and intense vibration. Due to its outstanding performance combined with light weight, the material is widely used as a metal replacement in industry.
