Benita shares the message of transformation through music, and taking hold of scary exciting moments.
She describes an activity involving a framework on how to write a paragraph (‘PERL’- Point, Elaborate, Reference, Link). Participants then watch a Stan Walker music video, are given a still from the video, and use the PERL tools to compose a paragraph. The idea of using music to embed literacy is presented, and the underlying message that when composing and sharing their paragraphs regarding the music video, participants have used literacy. There are over 10 examples of literacy activities used in this presentation.
