Rigveda is first of the four vedas: Rigveda, Atharvaveda, Yajurveda and Samaveda. The four Vedas are a foundational heritage of the Indian civilisation, and they are at the origin of many Indian philosophies that evolved in the centuries to come.
In the lecture series, Vedas to Vedangas, Dr. Sucheta Paranjpe provided an overview of the Vedic literature through an elaborate exposition of the four Vedas and of Vedanta i.e., Brahmanakas, Aranyakas and Upanishads. In this first lecture, she takes an overview of the Rigveda in her inimitable manner.
