Professor Alicia Duran's career in glass science is nothing short of remarkable. From her roots in physics to becoming a Research Professor at the Spanish Research Council (CSIC), her journey is defined by excellence and impact.
As a key figure in the GlaSS research group, Prof. Duran's work spans from fundamental studies to real-world applications, securing her position as a leader in the field. Her role as Co-Editor of the International Journal of Applied Glass Science reflects her commitment to inclusivity, evident in special issues like Women in Glass.
Global collaboration is at the heart of Prof. Duran's endeavors, with talks in China and contributions to European glass projects. As the President of the International Commission on Glass (ICG), her efforts were instrumental in the UN's approval of the International Year of Glass 2022.
In this exciting interview, Professor Duran shared her opinions on various topics, ranging from the future of glass science to the challenges women in science face. It is my honour to invite you to watch this interview with her.

Hi, I'm Mojtaba Abbasi, a Ph.D. candidate in Chemistry (at the time of writing this description!). I've been working on glasses for several years. Recently NMR has become the primary characteristic technique for exploring the glass structure. I'll post content mainly related to these two topics on this channel. I am excited about this channel and look forward to sharing exciting content here.
By the way, I have another channel named Timeless Nature, in which I share nature videography and photography content, which are my new hobbies.
