Excerpt from "Simla and Lahore (1933)"
Amateur film of street scenes, including the Simla Kalka railway, Badshahi Mosque and a Governor's farewell party.
Amateur film from the Burtt collection of personal films showing street scenes in Simla featuring the Simla Kalka railway and a mule train on the road to Tibet. Scenes in Lahore include the bazaar, the Badshahi Mosque and the Shalimar gardens. The film closes with a farewell party for the Governor, Sir Geoffrey de Montmorency.
T. Burtt was a civil servant in the Indian Foreign Service in the 1930s, who made a number of films during his time in India that were later donated to the BFI National Archive.
