Cities are profound because they can be read like a transfer paper. All cities have memories. And the memory of a city is written by its inhabitants.
What is the structure of a city’s memory? Where do our memories of that city come from? What keeps the memories alive and what awakens them in our bodies? How are time, history, and memory of the city intertwined?
I haven't been back to my hometown for a long time, and my memories of some places are beginning to blur. This video essay records me revisiting the places that left a deep impression on me, looking for lost memories of my hometown, and comparing how they have changed from past to present.
