Fluoxetine is a prescription medication used to treat depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, bulimia, and panic disorder. Fluoxetine belongs to a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, which change the levels of certain chemicals in the brain to maintain mental stability.
This medication comes in capsule, tablet, and liquid forms. It is usually taken once or twice daily, with or without food.
