If you know how to play Texas Hold’em, the casino game called Ultimate Texas Hold’em is going to be a breeze, if you don’t know, don’t worry we’re going to break it down step by step . Because Ultimate Texas Hold’em is a copyrighted game, we’re not allowed to buy the table; we’ll be showing you the rules using a regular poker table.
How to Bet
First things first, make a bet, the main wagers are the ‘Ante’ and ‘Blind’ – if you want to make these bets, you have to bet both and both have to be the same amount. The second main bet is called ‘Trips’, it pays out if you make three of a kind or better and it’s a completely separate bet from the ‘Ante’ and ‘Blind’, so you don’t have to bet one to bet the other.
The Deal
Now the dealer gives everyone at the table including themselves two whole cards, you can look at these cards whenever you want. The dealer also sets out 5 community cards face down, the point of this game is to use any combination of your whole cards and the community cards to make the best possible 5 card poker hand.
Raise or Check
In Ultimate Texas Hold’em, you have the option of raising once during the hand, how much you can raise depends on when you choose to do it. Once you get your two whole cards, you can make a play bet equal to 4 times your ‘Ante’ bet or you can just check. The dealer will then flip over 3 of the 5 community cards, if you haven’t already raised, you can make a play bet now equal to 2 times your ‘Ante’ bet, or you can just check again. The dealer will then turn over the last 2 community cards, if you haven’t already raised during the hand, you now must either make a ‘Play’ bet that’s equal to your ‘Ante’ bet or fold your hand. Now the dealer will turn over their hand and compare it to the players’ hands to see who wins. Remember, each player is only playing against the dealer not each other – you can use any combination of your whole cards and the community cards to make the best 5 card poker hand.
Getting Paid
Regardless of who wins the hand, the dealer has to have a pair to qualify. If the dealer doesn’t qualify, the ‘Ante’ bet is a push. Whoever has the best 5 card poker hand wins 1:1 on the ‘Play’ bet and if the dealer qualified, they win 1:1 on the ‘Ante’ bet as well. Payouts on the ‘Ante’ bet depend on the value of the player’s hand, anything less than a ‘Straight’ is a ‘Push’ and big hands are paid out according to this table. For the ‘Trips’ bet, look at the payouts posted on this table.
