This patient had congenital hypoplasia of the left side of the maxilla. There was also a resultant depression of the alar base and mild facial asymmetry. His occlusion was however completely normal. Treatment planning was explained to him and he consented to surgery.

The depression in the maxilla was augmented with rib grafts harvested from the patient. This resulted in a complete correction of his facial asymmetry. He was very happy with the results of the surgery.
