We are just one of the more than 9 million species living on the planet, but we have the ability to work together over incredible distance and time towards our common goals. So it's important that we realize how big an impact we have on the planet, and how we might adjust our goals to help protect all the other living things.

I recommend the following three changes:

- Protect natural spaces so that humans will not take resources from them, even if we know resources are there. This is both a legal and ethical undertaking.
- Add resources to natural systems by making space for nature in our cities and farms.
- Reduce individual resource consumption on a mass scale. Buy used products. Buy reusable and necessary products. Recycle when practical.
