There are certain math formulas you will need to have memorized. Knowing them by heart will help you work more quickly and accurately.
To find the area of a circle, use pi r squared. For the circumference, which is the distance around the outside, use 2 pi r. Remember that R is the radius, which is half of the diameter. The formula for the area of a rectangle is length times width.
To find the perimeter, add two L plus two w. The area of a triangle is half base times height. The perimeter is all of the sides added together.
To find the volume of a rectangular solid, multiply the length by the width by the height. The formula for the volume of a cylinder is pi r squared h, with h being the height.
If you're trying to find the third side of a right triangle, you can use the Pythagorean theorem, which is A squared plus B squared equals C squared. C is always the hypotenuse and A and B are interchangeable as the sides.
The ratio of sides in a 45, 45, 90 degrees special right triangle is 1s 1s S radical two. The ratio of sides in a 30, 60, 90 special right triangle is 1x 2x x radical 3. Remember that two x is the longest side and is always the hypotenuse.
The equation of a line is y equals mx plus b. M is always the slope and B is the y intercept. To find the midpoint of two points, add the x's and divide by two, then add the y’s and divide by two.
This is the same as finding the averages of both the X's and Y's.
