Ever since I passed my Motorcycle test, I knew it was always something I've wanted to take further.
Over the last few years, I've taken extra courses and constantly studied different skills, from Trail Riding to Advanced Road riding, in order to improve myself as a motorcyclist. I've read books, watched some awesome YouTubers (yes, it does help if you know who to follow), joined some awesome organizations, and even headed off too car parks to set out cones ;)
I do not profess in any way to claim to be an expert, I'm just into the training ;) so please take what I say at face value Im still learning but maybe I can add a twist to the technical training to help new students or Instructors in the beginning of their Motorcycle journey.
This part of the Bionic Bikers Vlog is for me to document some of my Journey towards becoming a qualified UK Motorcycle instructor.
I've already completed a lot of days to this point so I'm not a complete rookie but still, obviously, I have a lot to learn.
I start by getting down trained at a local Motorcycle school in Laindon, Essex, Then i'll have to take a two day exam up North near Manchester.
Once this is done, I will have to take further training to get the fully certified Instructor ticket to teach MOD 1 and MOD 2, but will be able to train students at the Basic (CBT) Level.
I can't post too much information due to data protection of students, but anyone appearing in these videos has given me expressed permission to do so.
Training to be a CBT motorcycle instructor requires much dedication and patience, it isn't something one can easily acquire. It's physically and mentally draining, a passion for teaching and motorcycles is a must because it's never going to make you a millionaire.
It's long hours, outside in the sun, rain, cold and wind....As well as my training with the guys on the pad, I have to put in a lot of extra time improving my own riding skills, road craft and of course the highway code.
Will I be able to hack it?
