I adopted Monster as a baby back in November 2013, she was shy at first but soon became confident, feisty, sweet, and playful.
In June 2016 I adopted Marvin my Green Cheeked Conure. He was mischievous, confident, and playful from the moment I brought him home and Monster took a real liking to him, they would hang out and play together every day.
Sadly in 2020 Marvin started to become aggressive towards Monster and caused her an injury that meant I could no longer have them out playing together. Monster also developed a large Hernia over the past 4 years, the vet said it was too risky to operate, and as long as she was happy and carried on as her usual self there wouldn't be any issues. Over the past few years she developed nerve damage in one of her feet, despite this she still continued to be happy and playful. In January 2024 her foot/leg declined and she was struggling to walk/balance, despite this, she still insisted on trying to perch, eat, fly, etc but she was really struggling and I had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye, which was the kindest thing to do for her.
Monster had a fantastic 10 years and despite Marvin's aggression towards her she would still sing/talk sweetly to him, and he would chat back to her.
RIP sweet girl I will miss you 💚💚💚
