Renowned sportscaster John Anderson disclosed his future endeavors on Monday, ahead of his final appearance as host of ESPN's "SportsCenter." The Missouri School of Journalism announced his appointment as the Endowed Chair in Radio and Television Journalism on the same day. Anderson, a graduate of the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Journalism in 1987, will officially retire from ESPN after his farewell show on Friday. He is set to commence his new role within the faculty in January 2025, alongside continuing his coverage of track and field events for the network. Dean David Kurpius expressed enthusiasm in a news release, stating, "John has been a trusted voice for sports fans and aspiring journalists for over two decades, and I am thrilled that he has chosen to bring his wealth of experience back to his alma mater, benefiting new generations of students."
