Rotala nanjenshan is a species of aquatic plant in the family Lythraceae, native to China, specifically in the Nanjian County of Yunnan Province. It is commonly known as Nanjian toothcup or Nanjian purple.
Rotala nanjenshan is a relatively small plant, with stems growing to a height of about 20-30 cm. The leaves are narrow and lance-shaped, usually about 1-2 cm in length, and are arranged in opposite pairs along the stem. The plant produces small, pink-purple flowers that bloom in summer.
In the aquarium hobby, Rotala nanjenshan is a popular and attractive plant that can be grown submerged or emersed. Its vibrant pinkish-purple hue and relatively slow growth rate make it an excellent choice for aquascaping, particularly in the midground or background of the aquarium. It requires bright light and nutrient-rich water to thrive.
