In this video I'll show you how to play an essential diagonal Pentatonic Minor/Blues scale pattern which will help you to open up the fretboard and get you using more of the guitar neck in your solos!

00:00 - Intro
1:10 - What is the The Diagonal Pentatonic Scale?
2:05 - Scale break down (with TAB)
4:36 - Practice Tips
5:16 - Using the scale effectively!
6:47 - Quick tip on crossing between the G and B strings!
If you ever feel stuck in a box or you end up playing the same stuff every time you improvise then this scale pattern can help you break out of that and give your soloing a new lease of life!
Something that I didn't mention in the video is that to transpose this scale to any other key, take the root note found on the A string and start the top two octaves of the scale from that point! You can of course start from the root on the low E string as well but depending on the key you're playing in that isn't always as practical!
Thanks for watching. :)
