In the northern Ukrainian city of Chernihiv, shocking footage has emerged on Wednesday (March 2) as a cameraman working exclusively with a Newsflare content partner reports up to "70 percent" of the city is destroyed.
The northern industrial city has reportedly been shelled for the last two days of what is now a seven-day-long invasion by the Kremlin on its southern neighbor.
Vasily, a resident of Bucha and eyewitness, tells the story of the attack to the camera in Ukrainian, translated below:
"It started - [with] the column [on the] left, that was our responsibility, the [people in the] column stopped, started waving their hands, saying 'get back!'
When the tanks started exploding on the road, all the equipment was left and people ran back. When the shelling already stopped, street fights began with the use of lighter weapons like automatics and machine guns."
"Many houses were burned, in an explosion of fire...I still don't know who suffered during this attack. They said a family was supposed to be [in one of the houses]. It is not clear," Vasily said.
