My wife Barb and I are in Costa Rica on vacation for 11 days. We are taking an escorted tour. We flew in a day early and we needed to do something on our own that extra day. Since we are on an escorted tour, with transportation provided, of course, we had to arrange an excursion, since we did not rent a car. So we chose this all-day tour to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, which is about halfway between San Jose and Alajuela. What a wonderful place to spend our extra day! The park contains a coffee plantation, gardens, a wildlife refuge (which is really just a small zoo, but a good one), and the feature attraction - five waterfalls. Here's a slideshow I made for our first day of our trip.
