An Indonesian military tribunal on Saturday (6/6) began court martial proceedings against two police officers accused of involvement in the shooting of four students from Trisakti University during a peaceful protest in Jakarta on May 12. The tribunal accused First Lieutenant Agus Tri Haryanto, 28, and Second Lieutenant Pariyo (one name), 38, both from the police mobile brigade, of violating military orders. The courtroom in East Jakarta was packed with more than 300 people, mostly fellow policemen and journalists covering the event. Hundreds of others, mostly students, followed proceedings from outside via a public address system.
